Located in the heart of historic Parnell, apparel hr limited was established to meet the growing needs in the Fashion Industry for strategic recruitment.

  Director Julie Malone has had vast experience in the NZ Fashion industry. Growing up in a family owned CMT, Julie started her training early, as young as seven she started working alongside her parents, by eight she was working after school, weekends and the holidays in production.

Attending AUT and starting off in the cutting room she worked her way up to qualify with the ATITO, teaching patternmaking, garment construction and design with a Private Training Establishment (PTE). Working closely with the local fashion industry Julie developed curriculums to meet their specific skill requirement needs. Julie then developed and implemented training programs that ultised NZQA unit standards and industry based on site training.

These very successful programs saw an average of 99% of the candidates that attended, placed into full time employment within the fashion industry. Julie gained an excellent reputation for reliable training strategies, solid career development advice and a very customer focused recruitment style for both the clients and the candidates.

With over 30 years in the industry Julie knows the roles and knows how to get the "right fit" recruiting prospective employees.

Amy Grimmer

Office Manager

Amy has been with Apparel hr since March 2010. Having spent 7 years working in the finance sector, Amy felt it was time to realise her ambition and love of fashion by moving into an industry that she had a passion for. Her position as Office Manager involves the primary function of making sure the office runs smoothly, from managing the accounting system to candidate registrations, candidate and job marketing, database and website management. No two days are the same!

Her professional acumen coupled with her warm, friendly nature make a perfect combination to work with candidates and clients, putting them at ease to know they are in very capable hands. In her time with Apparel hr she has gained experience and knowledge on the recruitment process and what makes a candidate a good fit for the client’s needs.
